I use this pad on top of my son's mattress as well as the smaller sizes for his playard bassinet and the changing table. They may not be the softest on the market but they work very well. For the price, you can afford to buy several so that you don't have to do laundry as often. The only thing I didn't like about these pads is they seem to shrink a bit when put into the dryer.
