It took me awhile to find the right heated mattress pad for my needs, and this was it!- I needed one that fit a deep mattress.
- I wanted a brand other than the Sunbeams that get get horrible reviews.
- I wanted one that was warm enough and that you couldn't feel the wires on.
I'm glad I went with this one.I was concerned that all the low voltage and other safety features would not allow this mattress pad to get warm enough... but it does - trust me.I pre-warm the bed for about a half hour on HI and then have to drop it down from 10 to 3 when I get in because it gets so warm.
The wires are pretty much undetectable, and the pad is completely washable in a regular washer and dryer (on low settings).The controllers connect to the pad between the headboard and the mattress, but vertically, so you can hide a lot of the wires.
The only small disappointment is that I was hoping to put this on a timer so my bed would start pre-warming a half-hour before I usually go to bed during the week without me having to remember to turn it on.But once the unit looses power and gets it back again, you have to turn it back on manually (it won't automatically switch back on once it regains power).This is no doubt another safety measure, so I can't even deduct a star for that.
I'm loving this heated mattress pad!I recently switched out my house's thermostat for this programmable one so I can drop the heat in the house at night to save money since this pad works so well.
