Ok, this is the most unusual electric blanket we've had out of the many over the years. It is truly a warming blanket as the bed never gets hot even on high which is fine with us. We have a tempurpedic mattress which really isn't supposed to have a heating blanket on it so this is great to get the bed a warm, comfortable temperature to get into and we then we turn it off when we go to bed. We keep our bedroom temperature very cool and the mattress would be pretty cold and firm without this warming blanket on to keep it warm and soft. Pretty much it could be kept on most of the time since it is super safe and uses the same amount of electricity as most light bulbs according to the information that came with ours. Yes it does have two cords that attach to two places on the bottom of the blanket and each cord has a transformer which goes under the bed. We also have one outlet in our bedroom and use a surge protector power cord with multiple outlets so we can plug in more than two items and it works great! The other difference with this blanket is the texture of it. It is very puffy, soft and light as a cloud and somewhat slippery, but not too much so. It cannot be tucked in to the mattress anywhere and has to just hang loose but that hasn't been a problem for us either. Another plus to this blanket is the fact that it is very evenly warm with no cold spots anywhere which was not so with any other electric blanket we've had.
