I searched high and low for a mattress pad that did not contain any plastics or waterproof treatment.I do NOT want my babies to breathe chemicals all night while they sleep.And frankly, since every crib mattress is covered in plastic, what is the point of a waterproof pad anyway?We have gone to great lengths here to keep all of these chemicals away from our babies including a special cover for the mattress (to keep off-gasses away) and a wonderful, thick wool topper, which is what I wanted to cover.We just slip some wool puddle-pads in between the topper and the mattress pad to keep the topper from getting wet and everything is fine.I highly recommend this product over ANY waterproof pad out there.Click Here to see more reviews about: Sealy Natural Cotton Crib Mattress Pad
